Electromagnetic fields – or EMF – drives our digital reality. It enables connectivity across devices. Referred to as a band of the electromagnetic spectrum, the millimeter wave is used across various products and services, from high-speed point-to-point wireless networks to broadband connection. These frequencies, emitted from satellites above, make mobile network connectivity possible.
However, scientists have reported that there are dangers to the millimeter waves, where health effects extend across all types of living organisms. With increased adoption of 5G cellular communications and pervasive use of Wi-Fi, being aware of EMF dangers is important so you can work towards reducing the possible negative but unintended effects they may cause.
EMF and Dementia
EMF exposure has long been linked to the risks of Alzheimer’s disease, which is a type of dementia. These have been reported as occupational risks among laboratory, factory, utility and other manual workers who consistently remain in proximity to EMF-emitting objects like motors and transmission lines. EMF and dementia being linked, we must understand not only the negative effects of 5G networks and Wi-Fi exposure among our older generation but also the risks of young-onset dementia within the younger population in the United States.
MRET water shows potential in inhibiting the risks of EMF-triggered dementia. In one clinical study, two groups of mice, one given MRET water and the other not given MRET water, for four months. The experiment revealed that the development of brain tissues among the mice who drank MRET water was enhanced. This indicates that MRET water could regulate nerve cell maturation, survival and repair more effectively.
EMF and Pregnancy
Studies have also shown the link between EMF and pregnancy. With exposure to high levels of EMF radiation, especially during the early stages of pregnancy, women may face a risk of miscarriages. This is a cause of concern as pregnant mothers will inadvertently be exposed to millimeter waves as they use cell phones, tablets and laptops on a regular basis.
EMF and Children
EMF’s impact on children is definitely one that is hard to ignore. Children are more vulnerable to the risks of EMF as their nervous system and bodies are still developing. In fact, the risk of children leukemia have also been associated to high levels of EMF exposure. In addition to being more vulnerable, children are also exposed to radiation upon birth and have a longer lifetime of exposure as opposed to adults, especially in schools and childcare centers, where they spend most of their time in. By understanding the dangers of EMF, it can encourage authorities in the United States to strengthen protection for childcare centers and schools, where digital connectivity has penetrated to support all forms of pedagogy today.
EMF and Environment
While there is only a small pool of data to suggest there is an environmental impact of EMF, it does not discount the fact that dangers do persist. These would have a lasting impact on the larger ecosystems. Take honey bees for instance. Exposure to mobile devices and the radiation can damage their navigational skills and ability to produce honey. The link between honey bees and mobile radiation is only an example – we need to understand the impact in detail and make the necessary steps to reduce the harmful risks as we progress as a technologically advanced world.
